    I have to be better about battery care, I'm way too lazy about it. I have a tender but have never used it. Have a 7 year old Yuasa in my bike and have never hooked a tender to it. Generally would ride year round 20 mile commute even in the cold and rain, sometimes snow if I wanted to go winter camping off the bike. But the last few years the bike has gotten parked for the winter just due to life changes. Though I might not notice the battery is going since my bike is kick start only. It still kicks on the lights and such nice and bright when I turn the key on.

    I’m no real fan of neither the Honda nor Harley 500cc beginner bikes. But honestly the only thing the Harley beats the Honda bike at is having a cool vinyl sticker on it but I’m not paying twice the price just for a sticker I can make myself for a couple dollars. Neither is anything to brag about but truthfully the Honda beats the Harley at everything on this particular bike including hp & torque numbers. At the end of the day, there still just a cheaply made beginner bike. At least with the Honda, you don’t have to mortgage your home just to buy one. Both are still just a throwaway bike; I’m surprised it doesn’t come with a dodge emblem on it. lol

    The service manual actually says to rotate the rear tire while draining the final drive oil. Not sure why but maybe there is some captured in the gears? Also, it says to fill the oil, while being supported with the side stand, which is maybe why the oil level seemed low when you drained it while level on the lift?

    My Honda CBR 600 was a week old when the motor detonated without any warning at all and 40 mph when running in locking the rear wheel to their credit Honda replaced the engine back tire and the chain/ sprocket set free of charge and it was a great bike after that , people don’t design mechanical failure into things but they happen anyway that’s because sometimes small issues are missed during modern mass production, i do agree that the wiring on my Enfield could be a little better looking but it is pretty good quality so thats a minor issue that I’ve been gradually sorting out myself

    • @YouMotorcycle
      @YouMotorcycle 8 дней назад

      V7 owner here. It's ok. The transverse vtwin with the cylinders sticking out helps since both cylinders have more space to cool in the air and neither cylinder is so close to the rider's core. It's a better setup than a traditional v twin like on a Harley where that rear cylinder gets no breeze and is right under the rider.

    • @YouMotorcycle
      @YouMotorcycle 8 дней назад

      Thanks so much. Glad the RE is doing ok so far! So far the only potential issue is that the clutch cable on the Guzzi will need replacing soon... It seems a bit premature to me, but apparently only getting under 20,000 km isn't unusual for the Guzzi clutch cable. The difficulty is that Guzzi parts can sometimes take a month (or two, or three) to arrive... So if I decide to keep the Guzzi I will just order the cable right away so I already have it, because eventually, I'm going to need it. The Bonneville sometimes would not start. Turns out I just needed to push the switch for the clutch lever sensor in all the way. It must have wiggled loose or been accidentally pulled on a bit. Otherwise both bikes have been solid :)
